Clara, the daughter of Ewan, has expressed interest for photography
SHE might look like a model and have superstar genes but Ewan’s daughter has revealed her hopes of a career behind the camera.
And, as these pictures show, Clara is already creating a big impression with her stunning portfolio.
The 18-year-old has launched an online gallery of her work – featuring male and female nudes and self-portraits – as she begins her career as a photographer.
The US-based teenager says her dad, who has starred in hit movies such as Star Wars, Moulin Rouge and A Life Less Ordinary, has backed her every step of the way – even when she told him that acting was not for her.
Clara, who grew up in Hollywood, was attracted to life behind the lens from a very young age.
She said: “Ever since I was little, I had a camera which I would walk around with.
“I really enjoyed taking photographs and, as I got older, I felt I could potentially be good at it – and decided to follow through with it.
“I started taking classes in photography four years ago, which is where I learned how everything really works.
FacebookClara is going to university to study photography
“Now I’m going to study photography in New York and I hope to make a career out of it. It’s a tough industry to crack but a very interesting one.”
The student may have inherited her good looks from both her mum – French designer Eve – and her dad but says she wants to snap models rather than join their ranks.
She said: “Shooting for a big magazine like Vogue or Vanity Fair would be my dream job.
“I’d also like to keep my artistic side and have my work put on display in exhibitions.
“I am definitely interested in fashion and commercial photography. I like photographing people most.”
Clara added: “My parents have always been very supportive and they’ve encouraged me to keep working hard on it.
“I’ve never been tempted to try acting. It’s not for me. As a little girl, I tried it but it was never anything I pursued as I grew up.”
Her online gallery states: “With my photographs I strive to explore the human body in different realms using lighting to create depth and texture and emotion to each image.”
The teenager is based at the family home in Los Angeles but will begin her studies at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts photography department later this week on a four-year course.
FacebookClara says shooting for Vogue would be her dream job
This summer she has travelled around Perthshire as well going to London, Paris and
Barcelona.
Ewan has spoken of his belief in old-fashioned, down-to-earth parenting, stating: “When it comes to my kids, there are a few simple values I cherish, the same as my parents – what’s wrong, what’s right, kindness, a solid culture and good manners.
“I recognise it can be boring to play with young children – to tell a story over and over again – but the secret is being there.
“Don’t be looking through papers or sneaking off to the computer, lose yourself in their world.
“Even if you do it for a short time, it will mean a lot to you and to them.”
