Ewan & Emily Blunt go “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen” Emily Blunt has returned to work in her native London just a little bit over a month after tying the knot with fellow actor John Krasinski.

Her latest project entitled, Salmon Fishing in Yemen has her paired with My adorable Scotsman Ewan and beloved actress Kristin Scott Thomas.

Lasse Hallström (Chocolat, Dear John) is directing the film from the script by Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire) which was adapted from the Paul Torday novel. Currently in its second week of filming, the romantic tale follows government scientist Dr Alfred Jones (Ewan), as a fly fishing-obsessed Sheikh (Amr Waked) tasks him with a seemingly impossible task – introducing salmon to the wadis of the Yemen.

With the British government desperate for a good news story in the area, the Prime Minister’s fearsome spokesperson, Patricia Maxwell (Scott Thomas), seizes on the idea and makes Jones responsible for the success of the project. Jones also begins to fall for the Sheikh’s representative Harriet (Blunt).

Salmon Fishing in Yemen is set to hit theaters in 2012.

Ewan pops down to the Suburb

Ewan has filmed at some impressive locations across the galaxy but his latest role saw him at the more familiar surroundings of Hampstead Garden Suburb's Free Church on Tuesday. Ewan was on set for his new movie 'Salmon Fishing in the Yemen' at the church in Central Square alongside his co-star Emily Blunt. Despite the wet August the production team still weren't taking any chances bringing along their rain machine suspended high up above the square on a crane. My dear Ewan plays Dr Alfred Jones, a fisheries scientist, whose banal, salmon and trout-orientated life becomes reluctantly embroiled in a project to bring fishing to the highlands of Yemen. The film, based on a satirical novel by Paul Torday, also stars Kristin Scott Thomas and is set for release in 2012.
