Our Kind Of Traitor

Ewan McGregor sports long locks to play British lecturer as London doubles for Switzerland in forthcoming spy thriller Our Kind Of Traitor

Twenty-years have passed since Ewan McGregor shot to fame as a young, long-haired journalist in Danny Boyle’s Shallow Grave, but the lengthy locks appear to be making a comeback in his forthcoming movie.
The Scottish actor is currently working on forthcoming movie Our Kind Of Traitor – an adaptation of the 2010 novel by John Le Carre – and he was on set in London on Thursday sporting long hair for his leading role as university lecturer Peregrine ‘Perry’ Makepeace.
Ewan, 43, was dressed down in a battered leather jacket, jeans and durable boots as he waited for the cameras to start rolling on director Susanna White’s new film.

The actor was surrounded by cars bearing Swiss number plates as the exterior London set doubled for a quiet street in Switzerland, where a portion of the novel is set.

McGregor is the marquee signing in a stellar cast that includes Bond girl Naomie Harris as girlfriend Gail Perkins.
Homeland star Damien Lewis has also signed up as Hector, a member of the UK Intelligence, while Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgard will also feature.

The film will see holidaying couple McGregor and Harris caught up in Russian oligarch Dmitri ‘Dima’ Vladimirovich Krasnov’s plan to defect after he reaches out to Perry, believing him to be a British spy.
Their involvement with the billionaire money launderer puts them in a precarious position when they are caught between the British Secret Service and the Russian mafia.
McGregor’s latest role, in which he will once again dust off his English accent, sees him sport  long, centre parted hair akin to the style carried off by his breakout character, Alex Law, in Boyle’s 1994 film.
The actor has a busy year ahead, with forthcoming appearances in new films Jane Got A Gun, Son Of A Gun and Mortdecai – in which he stars alongside Johnny Depp.
Our Kind of Traitor is expected to go on general release later this year.
